they ended up cutting me open (back, right side, 'tween ribs)... the cyst was larger, inflamed, and infected... and full of scar tissue. it definitely caused my pericardial effusion a couple months ago.

i'm in level II ICU... they'll let me go once they find an oral painkiller they can send me home with... wednesday, most likely.

they took out my foley catheter, my chest drain, and fixed my IVs today. :)

You survived the surgery. I'm so glad to hear from you. I'd give you a big hug, but I don't want to mess up your stitches. How many do you have holding you together now? Sounds like it must be quite a few.

if only i weren't allergic to those dyes...

so, i took red food coloring and drew a tongue from mu old incision (looks like :| )... and used green coloring to draw an X over each "eye".

no clue as to number of stitches. the incisions are on my back and i'm not quite ready to contorn myself to see what's there.

okay. too hard to keep eyes on computer.

i'm glad that somebody posted to the 'batlist that you were surgically altered...i seem not to have gotten around to reading much for the last coupla days for some reason. i'm glad that you got all yer purty accessories removed...catheters are so un-fun. lotsa *feel better* ~*^*~vibes~*^*~

actually, i discovered that foley catheters aren't that bad. they inserted it while i was under sedation... since the pain meds i'm on cause urinary retention, it was nifty to not have to worry about peeing. my body took care of it for me.

of course, this evening, i had to deal with it, but i've had SO MUCH water, i was okay... unless i tried right after toradol AND fetinyl.

Congratulations! It's a . . . blob!

It WOULD be nice if they let you see it though. My dog had some blobs removed from her before and they always offer the blobs to me. Don't know why, but they do.

Here's to a quick recovery! With the new house and all these surgeries behind you, hopefully things will begin to look up.
