shoe sadness

I'm that person. You know, the one with the perfectly coordinated outfit and the shoes that don't match.

yesterday, it was a black crinoline under a black velvet skirt, black lace shirt under a black open crochet wide-sleeve sweater . . . black over-the-knee socks and red legwarmers. And my new balance shoes.

Today, it shall be black denim miniskirt, black undershirt with hot pink trim, another open-weave sweater, black tights, and planet print fleece legwarmers. and my new balance shoes.

Oh, well. My New Balance country walkers were expensive and the soles of my Stonefly mary janes are now uneven. I can't afford yet *another* $100 pair of shoes this year, so the NB it shall be.

I cringe whenever I put them on and take them off and catch sight of them, but it's better to walk with slightly less pain, ne?

I wish shoe companies could make comfortable shoes in cool colors. Come on--the 974 would look so awesome in black with purple and silver accents. They make *some* country walking/adventure shoes in darker colors, but they're different styles and the extra/higher/lower lace hook placement puts really nasty pressure on some of my trigger points. Nerve pain doesn't belong with comfort shoes.

It's one of those odd things. Like, whenever I picture you at the computer, I don't see you at a desk. I think you're like me that you're somewhere with your legs stretched out on a couch or something similar. If I did wear my shoes inside my apartment, I'd be taking them off and on each time I stood up and sat down as I'm certainly not going to put my dirty shoes on my bed (where I have my little lounging area).

I have a pair of Ryka clogs that I now use as my "slipper" shoe when I'm outside of my apartment taking out the trash, doing laundry, etc. I totally dig Ryka lately as they make an 11 Wide that actually fits and they don't have too many shoes with evil seams down the side that mess with my polydactile scar.

i have a laptop and sit on the couch. we have recliners at both ends of the couch, so I'm usually back in the recliner, with legs curled up on the couch part (i like to lean back, but get achy all stretched out).
