great. the new web interface looks like crap on my browser. it's literally headache inducing, as none of the boxes go where they should. everything overlaps.

i can't run OSX on this machine and can't exactly buy a new mac right now. i don't like any of the clients, as the ones for Classic are clunky and less versatile than a browser. well, they were less versatile. this new stuff sucks syphilitic donkey balls.

I had to go look. I so rarely see the update page.

Wow, that is kind of interesting. It works okay on firefox. Tell lj support it doesn't work with your browser?

I also use the old style for viewing webpages. Almost all S2 styles will not format properly on my machine and, when I'm really lucky, they crash the browser or cause the OS to lock up.

When I've complained about this in the past, they've told me to suck it up and upgrade, though not quite so rudely.

Ironically, the "mood icon" animation is totally hosed up as well... I'm guessing this is Opera being wierd though; this machine wants a reboot.

The "View comment pages in your journal style?" along with the old layout might help (but odds are you've already got that set).

Firefox is the best of the bunch for OS9 choices... Which machine do you have again? There's a 3rd-party package that gets OSX started on some of the older G3-based machines.

Opera 6.02 crashes this machine if I open LJ pages (accidentally) that are set in S2. Needless to say, once my logged in cookie expired, it became useless to even try to use it anymore.

I really don't *want* to put OSX on this machine. It would just be wayyy too slow, plus I still need proggies that run in Classic (Photoshop, Dreamweaver).

I generally use IE, simply because it's the most stable browser for this OS, at the moment.

And yes, I have my journal set to S1.

Have you considered installing Linux? With 128 MB of RAM it should run quite nicely. If the Linux equivalents of Photoshop & Dreamweaver won't suit, the windoze versions will run under CrossOver Office.

I don't want to run Linux, either. Basically, my brain doesn't work well enough these days to deal with an operating system I haven't used in years. I don't even use Windoze machines anymore.

What I want is a neo-luddite revolution where CSS, javascript, and everything web-dynamic gets eaten by a giant mammoth.

???
There's a new interface?

*feeling very otherworldly*
Oh wait. The update page. Holy crapola, it looks terrible on this fossil of Netscape, too. I rarely use the update page, but damn, if I want to use it, I can't. Hurts me eyeballs.

I can't view S2 styles either. The boxes are never aligned properly. Bleh.

I think everything shows up where it's supposed to on mine, but the page is too wide and falls off the right. Don't make me friggin' side-scroll to update my journal, punkass bitches. Grrrrrrr.
