i was craving an omelet, so boy made one for me. i think they're going to have to be crossed off the list--they're making me sick these days.

i didn't fall asleep until nearly 6am. i woke up at 12:30, used the bathroom, felt horribly sore/nauseated/icky and went back to bed for another couple hours.

i'm so sore. it's hard to believe just how much worse my base pain level can get sometimes.

and what's up with the joint pain? that is not part of fibro. *sigh* i'm stiff and hobbly when i've been out in the cold for too long or when i first wake up. this is weird. lots of naproxen can help with it, but i hate taking it that often. besides--i'm already on nexium, i don't need to antagonize my stomach any more.

i haven't heard from the sleep clinic (the behavioral management place)--they were supposed to call me back this past week. I meant to call them on friday, since they were supposed to call me Tuesday. I'll do that tomorrow, if I remember. i'm going to ask them if they work with the sleep lab, if not, i'm going to ask them what more they can offer me that i don't already do or have tried. since i've done cbt, biofeedback, etc, i don't see the point in paying expensive co-pays for treatment i know is not sufficient. i also need to call the insurance company and see if they *cover* sleep labs.

i'm tempted to call my doctor and point out that if he's not able to help me sleep, he needs to address the *pain* i'm now in, preventing me from sleeping or functioning at even a 30% level of normalcy.

screaming, crying, punching pillows, hugging trees, and singing stupid songs. ;) those all work for me. so does writing. that's why i kvetch so much in LJ. keeps me reasonable sane IRL.

(i've fallen in love with Kylie Minogue's Fever for silliness)

i make up parodies of songs... or i use existing melodies and make up stupid lyrics about monkeys flinging poo. then i sing them at boy. or i sing about how much i love his ass--he has ass issues (and poo issues) and gets all flustered and rolls his eyes. he doesn't take them seriously, so it's all good fun. i sing songs about vagina dentata, too. and i sing songs about killing my enemies (insurance companies, generally) in various horrible ways. ;)

sometimes i just sing irish drinking songs (and i include Ween's silly pirate song in that, along with boy's Fuck Yer Lawn) and drink cider.

I can't do much, but maybe this will make you smile?

Tommy did this, and it needs Java to see (Magi can't see it), good for the next couple of weeks before it disappears - turn up the sound.

i disagree that joint pain is not fibro related - too many people with fibro have joint pain. including me.

however, i have arthritis too... so.

part of my cfids crashes are joint pain & stiffness. don't know if your's works that way, but if you haven't been sleeping well or much that might be a possibility.

want a reminder email tomorrow for your phone calls? i could send one just after i get up.

joints and email

my cfids hasn't involved joint stiffness, pain, and swelling in the past. that could change, of course. and i'm not getting hallmark symptoms just yet of a cfids crash (for me--painfully swollen glands and a sore throat. right now, my glands are just swollen, my bp is all over the place, and my body temp is dropping--a crash is on the way, but not here yet).

thanks for the email offer. email doesn't stay in my head--i'm going to mark on the fridge. that's the problem with email... i read it while i'm still stiff and sore and not able to get up and talk on the phone. then i forget it. brain fog.

The book I have lists joint pain & stiffness that comes & goes or moves around as a symptom of CFIDS. (I have it all the time and it's ever so much worse with this weather.) On the other hand, I think joint pain may well be a part of fibro and the doctors just forgot to tell us. It's not like they know more about this disease than we do.

I've been having the same problem with joint pain and swelling. My doc waved it off as fibro, but something's gnawing me that it isn't fibro. Seven years with fibro and I didn't have this problem until the past year. I also have stiffness to the point where I have to manually pop my joints back into place. I don't know what this is. I'm going back to the doc and if he says "Just fibro" again, I'm going to see someone else for a second opinion. I want to know why I'm degenerating and if it's something serious, I don't want it overlooked because of the fibro.

Anyway, I hope you're able to find something that helps, sweetie. If you do, would you mind passing it on to me? Not being able to hold a pen or play the piano or guitar is crushing my spirit.

I have celiac disease (thought by many to be another fine example of an autoimmune disease) and my main symptom of gluten exposure is bone and joint pain. At one point, when I was a bad little kid sneaking donuts every day, it got so bad my knees were locking up.

I have the stiffness and joint pain too. have had it for years. i suspect it goes hand in hand with fibro even if it's not specifically fibro-caused. My rheumy suspects I have osteoarthritis as well. Vioxx has helped me quite a bit.

Anyway (((hugs)))
