So, now minors in Virginia must have *notarized* parental consent forms in order to obtain an abortion. And late-term abortions are outlawed, even if the mother's life is in danger.
While I believe it's important for teenagers to obtain parental consent for medical procedures, I also recognize that it's sometimes SAFER to a young woman to NOT inform her parents of her pregnancy. I realize that a judge can override this law in certain cases, but that still politicizes a personal choice and that pisses me off.

And the risks of an abortion will probably be inflated as much as the risks of, say, laser eye surgery. Thankfully, our Senate is controlled by the Democrats, but narrowly...this bill may have a chance of passing.
The worst part for VA is that late-term abortions are banned even if the mother's life is in danger. Um...shouldn't that be a decision that the mother should be able to make? It's HER life.
Sigh...
