weather for mount laurel, NJ

dammit. i want 10 inches of snow and i want it NOW.

i want to see the swamp outside this window heapin' full of snow and ice. i want to see snowplow drivers crying for mercy.

i want winter to slap me in the face and kick me in the ass.

i'll be in indiana from dec 21-26, then we're back to NJ for a few days.

seeing as how the 21st and the 26th are both travel days (VA->IN, IN->NJ), i'm guessing we'll get slammed with a blizzard sometime in there. ;)

my plans include spending the 25th with mom and dad and [livejournal.com profile] pace, seeing my grandma (ligonier) at some point, visiting great-grandma/aunts/uncles/cousins (like [Bad username or unknown identity: d00k >) in goshen, and hopefully seeing my cousins <user site=] and [livejournal.com profile] blixa23 in there somewhere. i'd also like to see [livejournal.com profile] ismene and *she's* in indy, so maybe we can manage lunch or dinner or something if y'all will be in town?

wow. i imagine i'll be dead tired after this trip. woohoo! fortunately, i can drive on auto-pilot in indiana. my hometown is about an hour from indy (45 min from the east side).

the relatives are a must-see. i only get to indiana once a year or so. i want to work friends in, too, though. :)

I am off work from 12/21 thru 12/25. [livejournal.com profile] computerchix is only off work the weekend (12/21-22) and 12/25, but should be free either evening that Mon or Tues (12/23-24), so whatever works in your schedule, let us know. We live on the NE side, just outside Indy. We'd love to meet up for something!

NE side? so, fishers, noblesville, pendleton?

my parents live in henry county, right off of US 36. i can make it to castleton in 40 minutes, if there's not much traffic. ;)

Fishers (or, as it seems to be pronounced around here, "Feeeeshurs").

We didn't get much snow. ("The sky is falling! The sky is falling!") It didn't even cover the grass...

And, BTW, at this time of year, we call it "Hassle-ton", thanks to all the holiday shoppers. Hell is miles of retail in December. :-)

Having passed through places like "scenic" Jersey City, viewed only from I-78, or crawling down the turnpike in traffic jams, I used to have trouble using that word in the same sentence with New Jersey. Then, [livejournal.com profile] computerchix's brother's family moved to Hackettstown for a while. Delaware Water Gap... *drool*...

it's semi-rural. mt. holly is a few minutes up 38 from here--not far at all. the housing development here in mount laurel is brand new (built last year) and there are new developments going up all over. the back "yard" here, though, is a wetlands conservation area that will *not* be developed. since my MiL is a birder, she's in heaven. ;)

my MiL is from Hackettstown. we go up there every now and again. that's the hilly part of NJ. they now live in the flat part (though not as flat as south jersey gets. south jersey resembles indiana).
