Today is Cleaning Day. It seems like it's always Cleaning Day. I want house elves.

Anyhow, I'm tackling the sentient mound of clothes in the bedroom, cajoling it into becoming a slightly more orderly grouping of clothing on hangers. I'm also finishing the laundry, mostly what I call "industrial" loads--blankets and comforters. We got the bulk of the other laundry caught up last weekend and this week.

Boy is in the kitchen, crying over the dishes, as usual. Afterward, I need to put up beans and peppers so that he can cry over more dishes.

The guest room is looking much better, though it still needs quite a bit of work.

The front room has fallen by the wayside the last couple weeks and needs a *lot* of work. *sigh* Most of the clutter is actually recycleable, so maybe we'll run down to the recycling center today. I can sit down to do the front room, fortunately, since it's mostly sorting and piling. That's not as exhausting as hanging up clothing.

Speaking of clothing, I really need to purge my closets. I have such a hard time doing this, but it *needs* to be done.

The deck is full of branches. I should heave those into the ravine. The basement needs sweeping, too.

Oy.

Tonight--Thunderball at the Paramount! If I'm not too tired after that, we'll probably go see the Brides and Dead New Year at the Outback. If I'm too tired, well, I'll miss a damn good show.
Yo, [livejournal.com profile] absinthea and [livejournal.com profile] blixa23:

What do I need to have on hand for you folks? What do the boys snack on?

We generally have carrots and tortilla chips on hand. Celery can be had. I have sunflower butter and cream cheese. I can make hummus, onion dip, spinach artichoke dip, etc. There's always popcorn--I live off the stuff.

Will they eat relatively plain cereals or eggs/omelets? I can get Gorilla Munch (like corn pops) or Koala Crisp (cocoa crispies)--or a plain crispy rice cereal. I don't keep much soda in the house, but I have tons of tea and make iced tea on a regular basis (unsweetened, decaf, with honeybush or rooibos). I have half and half and espresso.

I frequently munch on rice + beans inside a corn tortilla. Is that likely to appeal? What about greens? Enchiladas? Vegetarian Chili? I can always make pasta (Tinkyada--it's GF). Do y'all like Indian food?

What are the NO WAY! foods for you folks? I already plan on making Al crank the ube ice cream.

(Don't worry Al, we don't have an ice cream maker . . . or ube.)
