Attention friends living in the Waltham/Cambridge, MA, areas:
kismet09 and her husband are re-locating.
kismet09 is a delightful person with a hopeless fiber obsession and a biological need to play scrabble. I've not talked to her husband much, but he teaches math, so he's GOT to be cool.
Academy folks, you'd like her. Really. So, please, dear friends, introduce yourselves. Feel free to do so here or to stalk her in her own pages. Just don't stalk her at her house, unless she asks nicely.

Aug. 3rd, 2005 09:36 pmThe lovely
redzshadow visited today with the darling Ms. Jazz. We went out for coffee and chatted and visited SammySnacks. Maya also brought us tons of vegetables, which I promptly portioned out and shared with
ez_mo (she wasn't home when we stopped by earlier). I have long beans, lemon cukes, yellow tomatoes, cherry tomatoes (gave most of those to Ali, as I have my own), zucchini, green peppers, tons of jalapenos, tons of banana peppers.
About those banana peppers. I'm accustomed to sweet, mellow banana peppers. These are a bit more like yellow wax peppers. Maya, are you being devious again?
explodingcat got chile burn on his hands. He has one hand that has some constant issues--rough and irritated. Not realizing that banana peppers *can* be a bit hot, he shredded four with his bare hands and a knife. And he's been whimpering ever since. Alcohol, vinegar, soap, milk, tomato juice--nada. Soaking in cold milk and ice water helped some, as did a first gen antihistamine (CNS depressant). I don't have chlorine bleach, or I'd have dunked his hands in it. This makes the earlier conversation about kvetch-t-ables even funnier.
On the other hand, the dish he put them in is quite good--chicken with fresh tomatoes, banana pepper, vidalia onion, garlic, fresh herbs, and marsala wine.
