quix...
what my 10-year old self would say to me now:
"Do you have anything I could read?"
"I like your shoes."
"Can we listen to Beethoven or the Beach Boys today?"
"I'm finished with this book, may I read another?"
I'm hungry. Do you have any summer sausage or dried beef?"
"Can we go tree climbing?"
"Have you ever seen a bear?"
"May I take this book outside and read with the trees?"
"I don't drink milk unless it's strawberry."
"White milk is gross."
"I mean it. I won't drink it. Call my mom if you don't believe me."
"May I have another book to read?"
"Do you have any books about Abraham Lincoln?"
"I like science. Can we see what colors those powders turn if we set them on fire?"
"Let's smell all the spices in the spice cabinet!"
*whispered* "I believe in ghosts, you know."

about 20 minutes on the bike ~ 7miles.
walked home ~ 0.75 miles
I think the recumbent exercycles will be easier for me. I can sit back and the cycling motion is more natural. Walking home is a must. I've always had to walk after cycling, even when I was well, otherwise my calf muscles cramp.
I'm a bit headachy because the locker room was perfumey. I was storing my long pants and long-sleeve shirt and wallet in there--they are safe, but the room wasn't and the 30 seconds it took me to get my lock open and grab my clothing was enough to set off another headache. Stupid stinky women. They should be doused in bleach and vinegar. Boy only beat me home by a couple minutes.
I'm going to cut some filters for the honeywell purifiers and maybe sit in the yard and think about the garden for a bit before I shower.
I think I can probably cycle 3x a week on good weeks. I need to remember water and a salty snack, though.
And the maple trees can stop having sex in my sinuses any day now.

Mar. 11th, 2004 06:21 pmWe're going to walk downdown now and have pizza.
This is my reward for doing stuff. ;) I'm too tired to cook, but not too tired to walk. And we have dishes. I'd rather conserve some energy for washing those dishes later or tomorrow than dirty even more of 'em.
So, pizza it is! Boy already ate some nice, balanced food for himself.
If anyone would like to join us, we'll be at Christian's around 6:45 or a bit earlier, maybe.

Mar. 11th, 2004 11:57 pmMy search for a tallish boob gnome has not proved fruitful, thus I am doomed to continue carrying these globular masses with my own straining neck and back muscles. Someday, I'll find some sort of counterbalance which will work, though it will undoubtedly involve lots of cooing tribbles and chocolate.
Anyhow, my old drawer bed is disassembled. We shall call for a bulk trash pickup soon. The middle room is CLEAN! The rug has rug tape applied to it, greatly reducing one's chances of neck injury. My sewing corner is somewhat organized... FSVO organized. The spare TV is in the corner, all neat. The drying rack isn't in the way! Oh, things are lovely in there. It still needs work, but it's finally organized for the first time since we moved.
Next on the agenda: front room and bedroom.
No, I didn't get the laundry folded. I do have a pile of striped over-the-knee socks on my bed, waiting to be pulled right-side-out and either matched or mismatched and put away.
I could use some sock gnomes, though I suppose I have to do some of the housework myself. Maybe next year.
