There are some people who match their shoes to their gloves to their hat, etc. M dresses her boyfriend to match her corset.

yep, it was another rockin' night at the dawning )
To my friends who frequently appear in my pictures.

I do not mind if you link to the pictures, of course. However, I'd like to request that you put them behind cut tags when posting img src links in communities. Otherwise, our bandwidth use goes up a notch with each community or friends page view someone on LJ does. When a community has 500+ members, those bits add up *quite quickly*. You don't want to see how huge our logs are from the past week.

If you absolutely must use a pic without a cut tag, please nab the pic and host it on your own server space (with attributions, preferably).

Thanks. :)
the pool went well today. i swam four short lengths (the lap pool is quite short). i knew i needed to stop then, even though i love the water. CFIDS restrains me. we hopped into the whirlpool for a few minutes to loosen up our limbs.

i cut my nails on saturday. there were 1/2" long. they were at that "we're going to bend back beneath the quick if you so much as look at us" point, so i managed a pre-emptive strike. this will also help prolong the life of my new pearly purple silicone swiim cap. my new goggles are opalescent with purple mirrored lenses. my swimsuit is purple, but i might need to look for another, since the straps want to fall when i'm doing the backstroke.

[livejournal.com profile] nothingoth needs to hear the swimsuit water extraction machine. boy's going to look for one in the men's lockerroom... someday, you'll have to tag along on free guest day.

if this pounding rain and wind doesn't leave my joints stiff in the morning/afternoon/whenever i awaken, i'll try to go again tomorrow. if i can get into the habit, i'll be very happy. i know i'll never be one to swim competitively again, nor am i likely to ever be *that* fit again, but it would be nice to maybe have some chance of not being in a constant fibro flare.

i like the whirlpool. i can see myself asking boy to drag me down there on really bad fibro days...

i bought a padlock afterwards... i need flipflops/shower shoes, but can't figure out where to find them this time of year.
for [livejournal.com profile] solieri, who could use some distraction. and for [livejournal.com profile] mbickers' Cory, who's a toy freak... um, also for [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice (along the same lines)... and, well, [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper probably saw it long, long ago.

yes, it's an old Flash animation, but it's a damn funny one

So... supper.

I saw the crookneck squash. I had about 3/4 pound (six *small* crooknecks). Washed them, sliced them into thin rounds, tossed them in a saucepan with some butter and diced red onion (about 1/2 cup onion)... tossed and cook briefly over medium heat, just til tender.

Made a cheese sauce in a sauce pan. It was basically Mueller's mac & cheese sauce, but I used a stick of mozzarella string cheese, three slices of emmenthaler swiss, about two oz havarti and 2 oz sharp cheddar... I think that was it. I could've used more, but got tired of chopping cheese. I was using up ends and bits, anyhow. i also sprinkled in some fennelseed.

used up some freezer/cupboard/fridge ends: 1/2 cup frozen peas, a cup of leftover garlic/butter broccoli, and a can of corn (drained). added the squash, onion, mixed, then poured over the cheese sauce. since i'm wheat-free today, i had boy crush some glutano crispbread and sprinkle the crumbs over the top. baked at 375 for 30 minutes.

It's pretty yummy. i should've used more fennel--a teaspoon or two, instead of two generous pinches. and more cheese would be nice, but not necessary.
