I have no idea why I decided that I MUST have blueberry pancakes at 1am. Fortunately, I have all the ingredients and clean dishes.

So, while I didn't feel like I was doing much today, I actually seemed to get a lot accomplished...

I got a LOT of dishes done, including nearly all of our silverware and all of our frequently used pots and pans, and nearly 1/2 of our total eating dishes.

I picked some tomatoes and discovered that a lot are rotting on the vine because I'd neglected to pick them for awhile. Some more are split, but will be fine for salsa. Wearing a veil did keep the skeeters off my face/chest/neck, but did nothing for my legs. Maybe I'll make tulle parachute pants.

I made it to the farmer's market and got lots of veggies. I also got down to Foods of All Nations and got some feta and some other things..

We came home and had some mozzarella alla caprese, along with some green bean fries. Then I accompanied boy to Spooky Haus (aka Spooky House II), where I read and ate cheese & ryvita while the guys assembled songs.

and i had blueberry pancakes, which were exquisite and perfect. now i have grape kool-aid.

Tomorrow--
clean bathroom. wash sheets. clean up sewing room. buy fabric. remind boy to clean up the dishes left for him to scrub. Pick up [livejournal.com profile] solieri at 6pm at his camp. Ask [livejournal.com profile] xiane and [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper if they need to run carloads of stuffs over to Spooky Haus.
Oops, I missed a birthday... this is typical of me.

happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] crysanna. I hope this week is better than last and next week better than this.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] angldst. I think your wedding dress is gonna be gorgeous. :) You're wonderfully talented, and I hope you have a wonderful day.
yeah, so...

i was driving down Main St with [livejournal.com profile] mbickers, warning her of the faulty wiring in the apartment we had just looked at (Hot, reverse outlet--and that was the only 3-prong in the place). i started smelling the "hot wire" smell... so i reached over to put the AC on max, which recirculates the inside air. It was already on Max. Crap... so I turned it off and rolled down the window, where i caught a faint whiff of the same smell. i leaned in to turn on the vent and AC... puffs of white smoke come out. turned 'em off. i couldn't pull over anywhere safe and my car was *running* fine and all my gauges were fine, so I drove the half mile to Spooky House and parked. I checked under the hood--everything was fine. I called dad... He told me to call AAA in the morning and have it towed to my garage.

He called back and suggested I check my CD player. It worked, but when I opened the trunk, the hot wire smell was worse and the CD player was *hot*... much hotter than anything else in the trunk and i hadn't been using the CD player at all today. I checked the wires there and under the dash (unplugged it, too). couldn't find any perceptibly hot or burned spots (besides, it still worked).

granted, it is very hot (97) and humid right now. it's conceivable that the cd player is having issues, which is creating the smell. the "smoke" might've been water vapor. it sometimes comes out when the AC is turned on on really hot days.

anyhow, since i couldn't *find* burned wires, i'll have to have it towed to the garage tomorrow... and wait for monday for the diagnostics to be run. *sigh* i'll turn on the car tomorrow to see if the smell persists, of course. i might even need to move it so the tow truck can get to it (parallel parked on the uphill side of the street).

i didn't need this.

kitties!

we've caught two or so kitties promos on VH1. The most recent was punk kitties doing the Ramones (Blitzkrieg Bop). I can remember seeing Joan Jett's I love Rock'n'Roll, too.

We're watching I Love the 70s: 1979 right now... the background music to a bo derek shot happened to be "Dreamweaver"... I stared at boy. He raised his eyebrows. We laughed silently.

There are very few people reading this who will even know why.

Interestingly enough, I glanced at his monitor the other day and saw the Amazon page for Acker Bilk. Be scared, be very scared. I don't *think* he purchased anything. I hope he didn't purchase anything. You should hope, too, even those who don't know WHY.

(For those who are worried, the tribble and severed hand and chains are all locked up in different cabinets.)
