Aug. 7th, 2002 01:05 amonce upon a time, there was a girl who liked a boy. this boy was a very special boy. he had walls dotted with small pictures of gigantic kittens stalking through towns.
well, this girl was shopping in a lovely little eclectic music store one day when she saw a greeting card. it was the most amazing card she'd ever seen. and she knew that it belonged on the boy's wall, so she bought it for him, even though it was autumn.
well, she bought it because she knew the picture would make the boy laugh with glee and that he'd grin for years whenever he looked at the card or even thought about bunnies, easter, or baskets.
she was right.
the boy laughed out loud when he opened the card--the first card the girl had ever given him. he hugged the girl and then put the card on his wall. whenever he looked up and saw the card, he would giggle.
and when he moved out of that room, he carefully packed the card away until the next semester. he did this every year. and one day, he packed the card away for safe-keeping and told the girl (who had managed to continue to make him laugh all these years) that someday he wanted a larger picture of it to keep on their wall forever, because it reminded him not only of the dark and vicious nature of bunnies and the cruelty of snatching the easter bunny's carefully hidden eggs, but it reminded him of the girl and how she was his friend from the first day they met.
