boy just came out of the bedroom, sat down beside me, and asked to hear pie-nanni.

i think he needs help.

i'm more than willing to give him a hand.
i like spring peepers.

maybe i'll go visit them tomorrow.

anyhow, note the wombat crossing sign in the lower corner of the flash animation. c
so... i'm at the farmer's market...

i see a bucket full of green tomatoes. i ask the elderly gentleman how much they cost.

"a dollar a pound", he tells me.

then i reach over, pick one up, ask him to weigh it. he puts it in my bag and says "it's all paid for" and pats me on the head.

oookay.

we came away from the market with yellow pear tomatoes, cukes, new red taters (roasted 'em for dinner), some orzo with feta and parsley and other stuff, and my green tomato.

oh, and boy got some summer sausage.

i've made two batches of sfincione dough (8 crusts) in the breadmachine. well, the second batch is still rising. i'll take those to the beach.

i'm gonna make some spinach dip, some cucumber salad, and the garlic-tomato-basil sfincione topping.

tomorrow evening, we're back up to jersey and saturday--the beach! woohoo!
i went outside for a twilight walk with boy. first things first, say hello to venus...

venus is so pretty this time of evening. :)

then we noticed a crescent moon below and north of venus. very pretty. :)

we wandered over to the berry brambles--they're all dying back. i guess the drought is too much. we chatted with the cows, fed them some grass... then i was pulling grass when i looked out and saw four young raccoons. we waited a bit to see if mom was following, then walked a little closer (just to look at 'em). they were running, eating, and rolling all over the place.

while i was pulling more weeds/grass from the walkway, boy pointed out a wee buford! i caught him and played with him a little, then released him in a buggy area near the lights. :)

happy times, these.

and now we're watching courage. afterwards, i think we'll see just how much noise the futon can make.
