so... i'm driving south on US 29 this evening... somewhere south of warrenton (and maybe south of culpeper), we pass a farm with a hillside topped in rock...

[livejournal.com profile] krasota, channelling zorak: big rock. big rock. big, fat rock.
[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat: that rock looks kinda bare without any goats on it.
[livejournal.com profile] krasota: O_O
...
[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat: well, it *does*
...
[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat: if i had a goat, i wouldn't need a robot.
[livejournal.com profile] krasota: o_O

and then i broke another synapse.
oh, i'd like to wish a happy late birthday to [livejournal.com profile] silkything

i hope you had a good day. i'm so behind on my friends page, i haven't managed to see how your day went.P
this evening, i asked boy if we could go for a drive. the first place we stopped was warren. warren is listed as a town on the map. it might've been a small depot a hundred or two hundred years ago. now it's a few houses and a narrow lane. well, there's a public access to the james river there. boy pulled the car up and we got out.

i didn't really notice what i was doing... it was evening and it rained all afternoon, so it was cricket-y.

i chatted briefly with some fisherman.

then boy says, "wow, there's lot of crick... hey! those aren't crickets!"

so i look down...

hundreds of tiny frogs or toads. they're springing every which way.

i was thrilled...

i caught several. the largest had a body about as wide as a quarter. the smallest was half the size of my pinky fingernail.

*glee*
