ronan visits santa

Well, Ronan has already developed stranger anxiety. He's best first thing in the morning, so we went to the Mall yesterday to see Santa (we were still in NJ). He was rather dubious about the whole thing and kept looking up at Santa and fussing. I didn't let him get really upset. He was just confused. I was thrilled with this stoic picture. It's much better than the grimaces the salesladies were trying to steer me toward. Hello! I'm not that kinda mom! I don't think crying pics are funny!

In retrospect, I should've thrown him in the air a few times before handing him to Santa. He'd have still been grinning then.

when he was smaller and i was constantly engorged, I think I used the "bottom" breast, propping it up with some rolled prefolds or washcloths. i put him on his side, placing a rolled prefold against his back (but not his head). angled his feet toward my belly, so his head was a bit out. and his nose was level with my nipple, so he had to open wide to latch.

had to have extra pillows on hand in case i needed support.

now i use the top breast mostly. just lay it out, somewhat propped on the bottom boob, and let him grab it. ;)

OK I havent become engorged....not at all yet, so I'm thinking I will have to use the top, she cant hold onto it yet, so I will need to prop her up on it...

yeah. my wrists got tired. he's only just recently gotten big enough that i don't always have to hold my boobflesh back. i usually do, though.
