Ten minutes after the severe thunderstorm warning was cancelled (and the lightning stopped), it all started up again. The laptop is unplugged and as the storm moves closer, I'll probably have to unplug the routers.

The sky is black, purple when the lightning strikes--which is very often.

I got SHOES!

FINALLY! Trail shoes which are well made, comfortable, and CUTE. I won't cry inside when I put these on. They're nowhere near as ugly as my comfortable NB 974s. YAY! The ACAC membership discount made the price slightly less painful. We'd budgeted for them, though, so that's not such a big deal.

While there, we perused the sale racks. explodingcat found some organic cotton cords in black, half off. Prana makes good clothing, so he bought 'em. I got a prana long-sleeve shirt (in nutmeg--they didn't have black). It's perfect under-sweater wear--a bit close-fitting, but lightweight. The sale was for 50% off or so, so very good deals.

Jerry is drooling on me. Ugh. Silly dog. Tom's attempting to do yoga in the kitchen, but is being interrupted by my shrieks of disgust.

what is it with trail shoes & ugly? i'll never understand.

anyway... i like how those look, structurally i mean. they remind me of an old pair of trail shoes i used to love. how's the arch support in those?

i think i may see if i can find some around here to test out.

I yanked the insoles out since I have custom orthoses, but the arch support seems good. They're trail shoes meant for light hiking, so they are structurally *sound*.

If you have a BRMS store locally, you can check them out. The guy who helped me was *not* a pedorthist, but he was just as knowlegable as the professional pedorthists who've fit me here in town.
