My brother will likely be relocating (employment) to the Ft. Meade area later this next year. He's wondering about good places to live. He prefers apartments or townhomes, newer and with decent amenities. I've not been up there in ages. I know Columbia has sprung up like a cluster of mushrooms. How are Jessup, Glen Burnie, etc?

He'd love the Inner Harbor, but it's just a bit too pricey right now. He can swing it, but he'd rather save up for homeownership someday. ;)

Anyhow, places for young men to live in suburban Maryland . . . close proximity to restaurants and bars is a bonus, but a short drive is okay.

Sorry I can't help. I tried looking for suitable places in Maryland, I really did, and I ended up in Seattle. Go figure.

I second this comment. That part of Maryland is a vast commuter bedroom. He might look to live as close as possible to either Baltimore or maybe Annapolis, but right around there is plenty of nothing exciting.

How about just outside the inner harbour? I'm in Patterson Park and there are still good homebuying and rental opportunities around. Canton, Fells Point, Mt.Vernon and others are good, and more affordable. He should try livebaltimore.com for some ideas.

there was a very popular apt building near my old house, off guilford rd in jessup. i knew quite a few people who wound up there because it was the most affordable for the quality.

and ft meade is just down 32, not even 5 mins.

its good. everything i dreamed it could be :)

i haven't gotten to use the fireplace yet, though, which sucks. but the dogs and i are loving the 6 ft privacy fence!

and while the neighbors are odd, they aren't maliciously crazy. thats progress.

how's your poodle?

jericho is asking me why I'm not sharing my yummy cassava crisps. Big ol' poodle eyes. :)

I'm glad you don't have maliciously crazy neighbors anymore. Did you leave tons of dog doo under their trees in the dark of the night when you left? I would have. :D

I'd just visit the local dog park with a five gallon bucket and a scooper. :D

I'm naughty, though.

I can also fill up the weight on the basketball hoop. Who needs sand when poop can be had?!
