I really wish there were painkillers that worked for me. My back and neck are killing me, my legs and arms ache. There isn't a spot on my body that doesn't hurt.

My feet are acting up again. This probably means I need new shoes. I hope new shoes can cut it, rather than new orthoses.

On the other hand, I have peppers. Lots of peppers. And squash. And onions. Tons of tomatoes. A watermelon. And a slice of gluten-free angelfood cake.

Now, if only had the energy to eat them . . . or possibly cook them. Perhaps I could unwrap the slice of cake.

Not all is lost while you can still eat peppers!

(I turned my roommates on to аджика. They tasted it, turned their noses up and said: "Фи! It's just salsa!" Bloody snobs, even though they are almost right...;)

No painkillers work for you? Anything you haven't tried? I find that Vicodin doesn't so much get rid of my pain as it does distract my brain from thinking about it. Better that than nothing for me.

As for the foods, mmmm, enjoy.

Opiates don't actually help the pain much. I'm allergic to Vicodin. Few things I've tried in the last several years has done anything. Anything that *does* (like, say, Fentanyl) has so many side effects that I'm not functional and barely human and mostly incoherent--and still in pain, just not really conscious.

I have the same problem with Valium. It makes me very unwell and almost hallucinogenic (and not in a GOOD way).

I got a ton of peppers, squash, and tomatoes too! Along with a ton of okra and some basil. Mmm...

Is that cake any good?

Gods, yes. Kati (http://www.hungarianbakery.com/) makes great stuff.

Were you at the market this morning?

Yep, I was there! From 11ish till noon, as Jeff is not a morning person. :) I walked by Kati's stand and drooled, but I stuck to produce only. I might have to try something next week; it all looks so good.

We were there from 10:30ish until 11:15 or so, I think. Maybe longer. I really like the linzer tortes, too. And the little linzer sandwich cookies. And the cinnamon rolls, but I never get there early enough. Back in my pre-GF days, I got the poppyseed beigli. Yum.

Theoretically, I like the merengues, but I really hate the way they squeak in my teeth.

After produce-schlepping, I treated myself to gelato. Yum.

Ooh, linzer tortes! I love those. I will have to try one.

And gelato! I got some last night - strawberry and mango. Mmmm.
