bat smorgasbord
Aug. 7th, 2005 04:28 pmI really wish I could enjoy my deck during the summer. I just went out to sweep away storm debris and within a minute had enough mosquito bites to trigger hives. There just aren't enough bats and ladybugs to eat them all. And the Asian Tiger Mosquito is my own personal nemesis. I'd like to enjoy my yard. I'd like to sit outside and enjoy a glass of iced tea.
The next time we get a rainstorm, I'm going out and taking care of the deck. It will be swept and scrubbed. There will be *no* more flowerpots out there. I like having plants, but I'll bring them back inside. I'll just have to get plant lights again.

Date: 2005-08-07 10:37 pm (UTC)I know how you feel. I can't go out to the garden without getting at least five or ten bites. I've got green beans that need picking and I could get another mess of 6 week peas, but I just can't take the bites. Nothing repels them, and I've tried it all. I know you aren't able to use the chemicals but I doubt they'd work anyway. I've gone from Skin So Soft to Off! to Windex (yes, Windex) and nothing works.
Around here, it's these teeny tiny little black bitches that bite the lliving Hell out of you. They love the backs of my knees, and I get hives from them.
