Saturday loves ice and a moon

We drove and I realized I was out of washer fluid, so I stopped in Waynesboro to pick some up (ice crystals were attaching to the dust on the windshield. Pretty, but *not* good when one is driving WSW on a winter afternoon). Headed down the Blue Ridge Parkway and ended up at Yankee Knob. We climbed to the top of the waterfall. It was a mostly icefall, actually, and gorgeous. I'll try to edit some pics shortly. I'm still working on SF pics, of course.
Anyhow, we spent much more time than anticipated down there, so I hightailed it back to Nellsyford, where a very happy boy savored a pork bbq (with slaw) sandwich from the Blue Ridge Pig. The owner/proprietor/cook was there and looking mighty tired. Everything smelled so good that I was quite tempted to give him a list of my allergens and ask him if the pork was safe (secret recipe). My veggie days would have ended with a pound of pork bbq then and there. Realizing that the likelihood was nil (plus, he looked so weary), I didn't take advantage of the situation.
Took the long way home, went out and got some groceries, came back. I made myself a huge salad with greens, dried cranberries, feta cheese, kalamata olives, sunflower seeds, blueberry hazelnut vinaigrette, mandarin oranges, and caramelized onions. Amazing what I can do with stuff in the freezer/fridge. The feta and greens were fresh, of course.
Boy's out at the Dawning. I've done a lot of dishes. I want to go to the mountains tomorrow, but I think we'll stay home. Boy has a lot of homework to catch up on and I could try to make the kitchen a bit more user-friendly.
If any camera-friendly folks want to go to the mountains this week, let me know. Noon to sunset are the best times, depending on what you want pictures of. This time of year, time is very sensitive for icy waterfalls and the like, but I'm flexible.
