loaf offering
Feb. 10th, 2004 02:09 pmI succumbed to temptation at WF last night and bought a loaf of black russian bread and had it sliced. I cannot and should not eat this much wheat, so I'd like to offer half the loaf to the first local person who wants it.
It's the dark, onion loaf. Very taste with bread and a buttery cheese (baby swiss and havarti are both excellent, so is butter cheese).
I've got to get out and vote today, so I should be able to drop it off (if boy is willing to drive).

Date: 2004-02-10 02:06 pm (UTC)anyway, wish i were local. that sounds yummy! must remember i'm done with grocery shopping for the week. i will not go to wf & get tasty bread & havarti. i do have a spine and i can resist cravings.
hmm, maybe if i go start baking my next loaf in the bread machine the smell will keep me from a trip to wf.

Date: 2004-02-10 06:00 pm (UTC)I've been on a diet lately that consists of lots and lots of salads (I've been going through bags of broccoli slaw and bags of baby argula at a ridiculous rate). Even more extremely, when I need to eat meat, I try to do so in the most least-cooked form possible (mmm sushi). Basically, I went off empty carbs as completely as possible (as a side-effect, it is a great way to lose weight--even I, who was already not considered overweight, have been able to drop about 12 lbs).
Although, I too, have been giving into temptation by sprinkling goat cheese on my salads. It was planning on going bad soon though if someone didn't use it up... and goat cheese is sooo good.
Actually, goat cheese tastes almost exactly like yogurt cheese (which can easily be made at home by taking a batch of yogurt and suspending it over the sink in a cloth bag for a few hours).
