So... I'm getting dressed. I want to wear stripey tights. I frequently wear stripey tights.

With my new shoes and orthoses, however, I need to wear socks. I've been wearing regular tights with the feet cut out and then socks... But I miss my stripeys. I don't like the look of stripeys with socks. I think I'm going to have to buy stripey socks. Long ones, so they go over my knees. I hope they stay up.

Al's got some stripey socks that go over her knees. I can't remember where she got them, but I'm sure she remembers :-)

Do they make sock-garters for women?

I've gotten all of my long stripey socks from Hot Topic. They don't go over my knee, they go up to right under, but on you they may go further up.

what about garter-length stripeys?
can you wear a garter belt comfortably, or does it hurt?

those would still be stockings. tights/hose/stockings are too thin. my thickweight cotton legging/tights from russia are too thin. i've never seen garterlength *socks*. the socks have to be of a non-cheap thickness. in other words, my adorable novelty socks don't cut it. Belk (nicest dept store in town) has nice long socks that might even be wool/rubber-free.

Can you wear socks under the tights? Or do the socks need to be on the outside?

layering doesn't work for me. my skin is really sensitive to wrinkles and twists and such. double-layered socks tend to give me blisters and worsen my neuropathy. :/ plus they look *lumpy* under tights. i'm finicky. ;)

Patrick told me that you have been looking for a lil' Stitch dollie like the one I got for him, so if you like, I can go get one for you and bring it to club next time I go. And if you don't plan on being there, I can give it to Xiane or Patrick or Chad [or someone!] to give to you ... So, whatcha think?

Target had several pairs of knee-high socks for Halloween, and some were stripey. You might want to see if any are left on clearance.
