Oct. 11th, 2003 09:29 pmtwelve hours with no connectivity on a day where i wanted some down time--that was not fun.
so... woke up before 9am, thanks to a nice, hard night's sleep. eventually, we headed downtown, where we obtained drinks (thanks
mr_justice and hit the farmer's market. the market was just wrapping up (noonish), but we managed to get some popcorn (still on the ear) and breakfast sausage from the Double H people. we then headed out to do more shopping.
this week will feature chili (already made) and borscht and pirozhki.
we watched the outtakes and scenes from spy kids 2, then returned the dvd/videos. we've got a credit for the non-functional on her majesty's secret service, which is good, since Chad and I were quite bereft from not being able to watch it. we had to do another kamikaze shooter to get over the pain and woe.
visited the orchard... got winesaps and staymans and a HUGE pumpkin. eventually went to kinko's to get some photocopies for tracing on the pumpkin, then hit harris teeter for a pumpkin almost as big and much cheaper. we don't mind giving money to the orchard, since it's an independent business, but i'm only going to buy *one* carving pumpkin from them and the rest from the supermarket. we also visited michael's, where i got some clearance bat and cat stamps, some hair decorations (skull rings), and some posterboard. boy's going to draw and cut out silhouettes for the windows!
spent way too much time on the phone with adelphia today. thanks to their stupid server migration, troubles have been widespread. blarg. my connection *just* returned while i was on hold. i couldn't look up some recipes i wanted, which was annoying. way too dependent on this thing.
i'm about to start getting ready for the dawning. bella morte show tonight. i'm tempted to skip, since it will be crowded and loud, but i've missed the last two weeks in a row and miss my friends!
hrm... must find clothing.

Date: 2003-10-12 12:56 pm (UTC)2.) Oooh! I wanna go to an orchard, too! That sounds like fun! Maybe Sean and I will have to try to hit something like that when we go to Kentucky at the end of the month - and get some fresh apples or something. Actually, I had thought about doing something like that. The "main event" (going to a Shaker farm, which I'm about 99% sure that I've mentioned recently, but I'm also forgetful, so who knows?) that we picked (heh, no orchard pun intended) doesn't involve picking fruits, but it should be fun, nonetheless. And, perhaps, we *could* still fit something else of that nature in, too.

Date: 2003-10-12 01:25 pm (UTC)2) we used to go to Dougherty Orchards near Cambridge City. I love that orchard.

For school each year, we went to Stonycreek Farm (http://www.stonycreekfarm.net/) for pumpkins and hayrides.
