Sep. 18th, 2003 04:03 pmthe phone rang slightly before 8am this morning. now anyone who knows me knows not to call then. even telemarketers don't call then. so i run for the phone, fearing some sort of family emergency. the answering machine kicks in. the person hangs up. then the phone starts ringing again. i growl and pick up the phone. it's a wrong number. not only is it a wrong number, it's a wrong number from some kind of call center (noise in background) and the woman is insistent on whether or not said person is really here. i was too tired to be rude. probably a damn collection agent misdialing.
so.... went back to bed. woke up slightly before 1pm. i thought i'd wake up around 11am or so, but no... so i call Chris (we were supposed to go grocery shopping earlier). she said she slept in, too, so it was no big deal. i took a quick shower and got to her place around 12:20. we hit the bank and teeter. ooooh, boy, Harris Teeter was crowded. we figured it would be, so we just chatted and got what we needed and stood in line forever. it wasn't too bad--good company always makes the grocery store more bearable.
meanwhile, it was raining lightly but steadily when i woke up, so by the time i finished everything (including running back to Chris' house with a forgotten bag of grocery loot), it was pouring. actually, it was pouring when we left the Teeter. it's windy, but no more than a regular rainstorm. it's getting windier. it will be a pretty big storm, i think. state of emergency on several levels (state, county/city), locally flash floods are an issue.
Bierschloß/Spooky Haus is cable-less... apparently a tree went down on a line somewhere.
and our cable *just* went. i guess i won't be posting this.
oh... five minutes and it's back.
i wanna be a tv weatherman so i can go to the beach during a hurricane.
