[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat: I'm glad I like bugs. There are so many. There's 900,000 classified bugs and thousands that aren't classified yet. I could probably see a new bug every day for the rest of my life if I was paying attention."

In other news... garage sale stuff all priced. It's cheap... I wonder if the CDs are too cheap. I have no clue what a used CD place would give me for them (used CDs sell for 6-10 bucks around here... ours are labelled $3 right now).

We're going to go put some stuff in the garage and possi bly carry out a table for the porch. And maybe stick a couple signs up, then we'll run home and jump in bed.

Tomorrow comes early. *sigh*

Around here a used CD place would give you $2-3 for a CD, and then sell it on for $6-8.
What CDs are you selling though, and would you sell them to friends online first (with the assumption that said friends would also pay shipping then)?

That's about accurate for Plan 9. The most they'll give you is $4, and that's only if it is brand new, popular and either still wrapped or barely out of the package. In my last run there, I only had a few CDs that sold for more than $2 each. [good thing I had so many!]

Good luck tomorrow! I would have come over, but I realized that Stu and I needed couple time ;)

We have a big box of CDs. I don't really have time (or energy) for typing them all out. Is there a type of music you like?

This is mainly stuff we don't listen to *at all*. A lot of the CDs were promotionals tossed at the newspaper where boy worked (he reviewed music), some are duplicates (we used to have separate collections with a bit of overlap), some are just things we don't like anymore or bought unheard and didn't like at all. There's a little bit of everything in the "rock" category, from tori and rasputina singles to indie bands to some hair metal.

I could take my computer outside tomorrow and start typing out a list if you're interested in any.

consulted with Marn and came to the conclusion that we suck at genres.

er, I'd be interested in trying whatever Tori stuff you've got- I've never heard very much, and been sort of hesitent to plunk down money on something I might not like. I've never heard ot Raputina..what sort of thing are they? Marn likes 80's vaguely-gothy sort of stuff. Uhm, I don't want you to have to go to a lot of trouble for it though, so don't, if it is.

I can set aside the tori albums (little earthquakes and Under the Pink) for you. The singles aren't anything special, really, so I'll leave those in the box. We have a cure album in there--it's actually a Russian bootleg of "Wild Mood Swings". I don't think there's anything else old-school gothy in there (we wouldn't get rid of those... most of mine is on vinyl, while his is on CD, so we won't get rid of either). Rasputina is quite goth--lovely lasses in corsets who play cellos. ;) The CD we have in the box is a single with about five songs on it. There's a bit of electro-industrial (Machines of Loving Grace, KMFDM), a Crow soundtrack (we had two), and a lot of other stuff. Some of it's light, some of it isn't. There's a Trixter album, too. ;)

i'm willing to let these go to friends just for shipping.

Well, I don't want to be greedy, but I'd take whatever you think we'd like. I'm definately interested in the two Tori, and the Cure one (Marn's all-time favourite), the Rasputina, and ..uhm, the stuff I tend to like is sort of uhm, Massive Attack/Garbage sorts of trancey things.. if there's anything like that, those too. And I'll pay whatever it is you say is good :)
