animal cruelty pisses me off and makes me cry. i'm very happy that the dog is expected to recover and that a lot of care will be put into finding her a home.

Animal cruelty sickens me, too. Most of the animals who have come into my life were rescues. And in some ways (and with one cat, in particular), I'm proud to have known them, proud of all the things that they managed to survive before they came into my life. It's tragic when they don't survive, but a point of pride when they do.

I must admit, my pacifist side disappears when I hear of any case of animal cruelty. That's why I made the conscious decision that I couldn't work at an abused animal shelter. I would probably go after the abusers myself.

I had a psycopath uncle who did something much like that to a dog that belonged to my aunt when she was divorcing him. He was stalking her at the time & one of the things he did was that. He also dumped the dog on the end of the road where my family lived (we were helping her), "just to let us know"...the Alzheimers that he's got now is far too good a fate for him..
