Do you mean they can trigger herpes outbreaks if you've been infected with the virus, or do you mean that they can somehow facilitate contracting herpes? If that's what you mean...how???
If one has herpes, arginine (or a diet high in l-arginine) can trigger outbreaks. I have HSV-1. For me, it only manifests above the torso (cold sores, herpes whitlow, and ONCE ocular herpes). I take l-lysine caps to suppress the virus. l-lysine inhibits the viral RNA replication, I think. I can't quite remember.

Someone with genital herpes (either HSV-1 or HSV-2) might or might not have a problem with arginine jeans. I have no clue. ;)
