Today was long. I probably overdid it. My throat aches (and it hurt before I had a coughing spree after inhaling some beans) in the ominous CFIDS way.
Anyhow. After the pie came out of the oven, I ended up meeting up with
xiane,
mbickers, and
briskpepper. We went to Bodo's, where breakfast was had by the late-sleeping crew. Then we dropped Stu off and we women headed to Salvation Army, where little of nothing was found (though I did score a rolling foot massager and a chia head).
We stormed my house for pie and ice cream, then we left boy again and went off in search of the future Spooky Haus, where we found
audiorapture and his wife (they own it, their son was asleep) and
nothingoth (he'll be living there) taking a break from their strenuous cleaning/renovation work.
audiorapture gave us the tour. It will be really nice. The back yard is wonderfully shady and sloped and the duplex itself is nifty and spacious. I like the choice of paint, too. :) Bright (but oddly, still soft) colors make me happy. When Chad's dad showed up with the power washer, I dragged Chris and M away.
We picked up boy and headed to Scottsville for the Farmer's Market. I managed to get kale, eggplant, okra, white pepper, and a thyme plant. Boy was thrilled to get pork bbq from the double-H farm guy (he always has some kind of meat available to eat, boy loves it all). I also got a green tomato for free from the older guy who likes to pat me on the head. I wasn't even wearing a shirt with a low neckline, so I can't explain that.
Went back to town, lounged at Casa del Spooky for a bit, then headed to JoAnn's, where we oohed and aahed over the halloween goodies. Went to Harris Teeter (mmm, roasted garlic bread), then dropped the girls off and came home. Tom and I rested a bit, ate a bit (I've been eating non-stop, since I only had pie and ice cream and a pretzel earlier in the day), watched The Daily Show...
nothingoth called, then stopped buy. I served him pie, which he liked. I had a pretzel, a gin & tonic (he said I needed gin), and some leftover pasta and beans (finished it), which sparked a violent coughing attack. I'll learn, someday, to not inhale such things.
Chad is now on his way home. I'm going to go to bed soon, since I've had a long day.
