i hate fibro
Jul. 11th, 2003 11:30 amI'm flaring very badly.
No, I'm not hung over. That would be far less painful. I'm just aching horribly and my neck and shoulders make me want to scream every time I move them.
The landlord and
explodingcat are attempting to move the dryer in. Since the appliance guy can't make it out til next week (when we're on vacation) or later, and I *need* to finish laundry before vacation, the landlord decided that he'd come over and help boy move out the house's dryer and move in our dryer (which is stored in the shed).
He also said that after the garage sale (August), he wants to move the washing machine out to his part of the shed and move ours in. YAY! I want my washing machine in here SOOOOO badly. It's larger and works far better than the old one in here.
I need to shower and then go pick up some groceries or something, if I can bear to drive. I need to buy sunscreen for boy, CDRs while they're still on sale at Office Depot (19.87/pack; buy one get one free, imation 50pk 700MB/80min), and pick up a beach towel. Tom wants to use his parents' extra towels, but those always make me sick because of the sunscreen, detergent, and fabric softener. Why does boy not understand this?? I think he's just not thinking. He doesn't read my mind and I didn't give him that reason for buying a new beach towel. Of course, *I* think he should realize this, since I can't ever use their towels and if I do use the *house* towels, I have to wash them several times before I can bear to use them to dry off. My own beach towel that I have here is threadbare and over 10 years old. I use it for henna now. It's not fit for anything else, except mopping up grease.
I hear grunting and banging about. I should go supervise. yes. yes, indeed.

Date: 2003-07-11 11:38 am (UTC)what do you do when you do the laundry? i have reactions to things other people launder as well (towels at my parents house) due to my perfume allergies so i have to do all unscented detergents and fabric softeners plus i throw in borax and washing soda instead of bleach or some such. but it sounds like that still wouldn't work for you.

Date: 2003-07-11 11:50 am (UTC)extra rinse on towels, sheets, and undies
half a cup to a cup of vinegar in the rinse water in lieu of fabric softener.
borax or washing soda as needed. dry milk soaks for stinky stuff (stuff that has perfume or something on it from the store)...
if i sleep on sheets that have been washed in something i react to, i end up covered in hives and allergic dermatitis... and then i get a migraine. not pleasant stuff.
i have friends whose clothing makes me sick if i sit on the couch after they've sat there. i think i need to train one or two of them.

Date: 2003-07-11 11:58 am (UTC)it sounds like if you reacted to anything on my clothes it would be the (unscented of course) Bounce. i usually use All free and clear too, and do a max rinse.
i hope you have fun at the beach!
