Jun. 9th, 2003 02:48 amSo... I finished The Fourth Hand last night. It's been several years since I read any Irving. Now I need to find something else to read. I'm tempted to read another John Irving book. I have one (A Widow For One Year) that I haven't read, but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for it. It's also a hardcover, which will actually *hurt* to read.
Hrmmm...
Oh. Just went in to see just how big the book was. It's large, even for a hardcover. I think I'll re-read Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha, which I have in softcover. And I was just contemplating re-reading it last night. Yes, this will do. It won't hurt quite so much.
I can't believe I'm judging what I read by how much physical pain the book will cause. *sigh*

Date: 2003-06-10 11:18 am (UTC)I hate having to do that too. And smaller writing makes the spasms worse, so sometimes I've had to put a book back because they don't have it in larger type. *sigh*
Off to read more of Hunter S. Thompson's The Rum Diary. I'm a big John Irving fan too, but I had forgotten the name--now i know what to look for on my next library trip.
