May. 2nd, 2003 11:54 pmbusy day today...
I woke up at the crack off almost one pm. Yeah, really early. I nearly blinded myself with themorning afternoon sunshine.
mucked about a bit, straightening up here and there... then i put on clothing and went to IY to request they carry white wave chicken-style seitan. they carry five zillions kinds of SOY "meat", so the least they can do is carry *one* soy-free kind. i walked over to the personal care shop for IY and bought henna. then i went to my eye doctor appointment.
my left eye is a quarter point or so worse. not much to worry about. he gave me contact and glasses 'scripts for the next two years, so I can order sunglasses this year! i walked around and entered the main walmart entrance for the vision center (my insurance covers *two* optometrists in town, the one i actually *trust* is at WalMart, oddly enough). i picked up naproxen and an antihistmine in the main part of the store, then bought a box of contacts for my left eye (i was out of left eye lenses, anyhow).
hit whole foods and kroger for a few things, came home and had dinner. grilled cheese and tomato soup. i can actually have that terrifying canned campbell's tomato soup. i added roasted red pepper and fresh basil to it, which made boy very happy. he also added corned beef to his sandwich.
i noticed that a LOT of people take handicap spots in this town who have no handicap plates and no visor placard. i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they have the placard and forgot to put it up. but at least *half* of the taken spots today were taken by unmarked cars. that was upsetting. it would have been more upsetting if i couldn't have parked close by. i did have to park way back behind IY and that was painful. i had been waiting for a close spot, but a woman who was walking her wheelchair looked around and then sat down in it in the empty spot to talk to a lady walking with her. and she was still there talking when i came out!!! i had to park in a handicap spot at kroger, since there was nothing else close by and i was in too much pain to walk much at all at that point. even driving was getting to the unbearable stage.
called up
xiane. we went to TSC and bought chickenwire. i got a few more garden accessories (hose y-valve, a non-rubber-handled hose sprayer thingy that won't cramp my hand, a 3x6 magnetic tray that is strong and should easily hold all my straight pins, as well as keep them from rolling onto the floor)... then we went back home.
chris and i made tomato cages (i have plenty of zip ties, she had the wire cutters) on a blanket in the back yard while boy practiced his guitar. the mosquitoes made a meal of us, which surprised me--it's too early for mosquitoes!!! one of the bites i got has blistered, too! it's full of little tiny water/blood blisters now. it looks almost like a herpes sore. very disturbing. and this was a mosquito i killed before it could drink very much!
we made lots of cages. yay!
mbickers found us and joined us, too. then we all went inside for ice cream and Fishing with John. and platypus love. lots of platypus love.
it's the best kind.

Date: 2003-05-03 08:54 pm (UTC)morningafternoon sunshine. That's how I feel - especially today, when I woke up earlier than usual. Although I still have you beat - I woke up at the "crack" of 3:30 pm (which is still earlier than it has been, as of late).
