since my laptop arrived, something had to go wrong, right?
the freakin' cable's out.
it's been out for a few hours. after one hour, i called the cable company to (a) see what was up and (b) let them know the bill is in the mail (it fell under some stuff and was due yesterday).
They're sending a technician out next monday. yes. one week. because apparently it's not us (he said that my bill does *not* should past due and that it will be fine mailed today), it's the cable itself. it might fix itself soon. tech support also told me that the adelphia bankruptcy shouldn't be affecting our connectivity and if my friends (hi chris) are also having problems, it's probably something local causing the frequent outages. they usually only last 5-10 minutes, so i haven't called. but an hour during the work day is a big deal. boy can always dial in direct, but that requires running a phone line to his office, which can be done, but is a pain in the ass (literally, i tend to trip over things like that). and i'm glad i haven't cancelled my ntelos dialup account yet.
anyhow, the tech dude said that cville shows no major outages now or recently, so my connectivity issues need to be checked out. and local folks having connectivity issues--call! if it's neighborhood wide, we might need to be more vocal and get on adelphia's ass about fixing lines and switches and stuff.

mbickers is coming over to sew.
i tried to go swing, but it made me really dizzy. and somebody nearby was doing laundry, so the fabric softener stench being vented outside was making me super nauseous.
i called my doctor and got an appointment for tomorrow. will discuss feet, orthotics, referrals, handicap permits, pain management, and heartburn. i think that's all.
