other than trying to buy furnace filters, i pretty much spent the day bugging boy until M called. then she and i went off to procrastinate. i'm not sure what i was procrastinating, but [livejournal.com profile] mbickers has finals and projects.

we went to whole foods and found young herbs. i grabbed mint for boy (even though we have several varieties in the yard) and oregano. i also bought some onion rolls and granola bars and purple tent bean seeds.

then we went to kmart and wasted time. i really should try to not walk so much, but i hate being bored. and i wasn't in the mood to read or garden. we then tried to visit a nursery, but it was closed. so we went home and i made dinner for all of us while boy did some dishes. we had chinese broccoli (sesame and garlic) and squash and cheese filled pastas (not tortellini, but similar). very yummy. i just tossed the pasta with heavy cream and butter. i made coffee for the crack-baby and kool-aid, too. we also gave her candy i bought while i was at the korean grocery yesterday (pucca and green-tea pocky). i ended up finding more candy around the house i couldn't eat (chocolate from my MiL, pez, etc), so she's nicely hyper. ;)

we went back to the Goth House, where Terminal Ready was practicing. We found [livejournal.com profile] xiane making bath salts in the kitchen, so we sat for awhile. then we started smelling her herbs. Chris is a good goth mommy and didn't open up the lavender. ;) Her nag champa salts smell delightful, though. she gave me some juniper berries, which i wanted for a recipe. now i need to find the recipe. i can't remember what it was, just that i needed juniper berries.

i started to crash, so boy brought me home. i'm having koolaid and then i'm going to bed. i'm very achy and tired. i think yesterday is catching up with me. it was nice to spend the day with friends, though.

tomorrow, i need to go to noland's or lowe's and buy cheap filters in 12x20 and 18x14, since nobody carries 12x18, which is what the old filters are. i'm not sure which way they go in and i don't want to touch the old filters and try to put them in to see. it appears only one side goes in a guide, so i should be able to put *taller* filters in, it's just hard to see which way is tall when the filters go in a place above my head and past my reach. otherwise, i think i'll garden.

I take that back, I got a hit there for 12 x 18 but when looking deeper they have all kinds of sizes *except* that one size.

dinner sounded good? You sound like a vegetarian..are you? I am not necessarily a vegetarian but I don't eat much meat...Occasionally some chicken or some fish.
Have you checked walmart on the filters? Sometimes they have quite a variety...depends on the store.

When a friend of mine's parents moved into an older mobile home...they re-routed the AC return and make a hole...not even thinking about whether it fit the filter sizes sold in stores or not...and it didn't. They had to order a special on...and got one of those you can wash.
Do you have in vegetarian recipies?

I'm not going to (a) do anything that involves labor or (b) spend much money. That's my landlord's job. ;)

And I have lots of vegetarian recipes. ;) I don't really use recipes when I cook, though.

*grin* I wasn't say you make a new hole...I was saying that sometimes idiots make holes and don't think about the filter size....so her parents had a hard time finding a filter.
Have you ever eaten vegetable lasagna...not the tomato sauce kind?

Yep, I'm vegetarian.

And our walmart only carries a small selection of filters. if the online ordering places don't stock it and the heating supply companies look at me like i'm weird, it's time to reconsider what sizes might go in my darn furnace. ;)

i'll try to remember, but the local asian food stores don't sell them and the one i visited this week is a good three hours away. i can't drive that far these days (doing it at all has resulted in a flare and major nerve pain) without serious repercussions. i'm not sure when we'll get back up there.
