Whenever I think of chopsticks, I think of this one grad student's thesis defense. Once upon a time, I got called up to help with the laptop & projector cart so that some grad student can give his thesis defense. Traditionally, the student doing the defense would provide some refreshment for the faculty panel. This guy (Chinese grad student) had arranged a paper plate of assorted cookies, and on the right side of the plate was a paper napkin, a pair of chopsticks, and a packet of soy sauce.
Yes. Cookies, with soy sauce, and chopsticks.
Considering that I've not seen the student again, he must have passed his defense. It must have been a good defense, or they didn't want him back with more cookies and soy sauce so they passed him. And that's my chopsticks story. *bows*
