Mar. 31st, 2003 06:40 pmthe laptop's screen is flickering. i don't know if it's the screen itself or a video cable or something else causing the problem.
*sigh*
i don't want to be without it for long. it keeps me from going insane when i can't do much else besides sit on the couch and try not to remember how much pain i'm in. if it's the screen itself, i'm pretty sure that repair isn't covered by Apple's service/labor one fee program.
i'm going to turn it off and go google screen flickers on g3 powerbooks on boy's machine.

Date: 2003-03-31 04:28 pm (UTC)Apple has a repair service where it only costs about 250 for all parts/labor when something is wrong. THey had to replace the cord, power port, and the card the port is attached to, along with the hot swappable CD drive... all for 250, whereas buying the separate parts was going to be higher than that. The thing is, I'm pretty sure the nifty LCD screens *aren't* covered in that deal.

Date: 2003-04-01 08:20 am (UTC)have you worked with mac laptops? if this *is* just a cable issue, how easily could i fix it myself? i've never had a problem opening up desktop towers and working on them, but laptops are so wee and full of screws. i'm really leery of doing it myself. i think i'll have to find a local mac god like the Twig and lure him in with yummy food and booze.
