i hate heartburn.

and tonight, it's really bad.

it doesn't matter *what* I eat on a bad day. so i usually just decide to eat what i want. unfortunately, garlic burps + heartburn = sick filling me.

bleagh.

the doctor didn't call back til late. he said i can pick up samples monday. if the next med doesn't work, i have to go see a gastro. *sigh*.

i don't want a stomach-cam. i just want the heartburn to go away away away.

Hey, has the cold been affecting your Dish Network? Mine is all kinds of screwed.

PS- I have heartburn tonight, too. Mine is getting worse, too. I have used the word "too" more than I should in these sentences, too. Time for "also".

i don't know if it's the cold or the recent electromagnetic storms, but yeah. it also tends to get fucked up late at night, year-round.

Mine has just been goofy since the recent snow and unbelieveable cold weather.
"Aquiring signal.....Lost signal...." drives me crazy. I've done all the diagnostics things and setup and STILL.

Blah. Maybe it is electromagnetic storms.

i don't know if it would work.

nothing OTC works, double doses of ranitidine have little effect, prevacid makes it worse... what i eat doesn't really seem to have that much of an effect, though rice makes it much, much worse.

maybe i'll go see if i still have some prilosec. i don't know if that works or not.

and to make things worse, i rely on naproxen for my sinus/jaw pain... so, i can take naproxen and have stomach acid boil up to my sinuses, or i can suffer in pain AND heartburn. ;)

well, i don't eat naproxen like candy. when i'm under stress, though, the jaw acts up. and i pretty much have long-standing sinus issues. caffeine helps the sinuses, but is horrid for that belly. and heartburn like this = stress. *sigh*

we'll see what the doc wants to try next. i took the prilosec (found a half-full bottle from last year!)... so now i'm nauseous, which is constant with the CFIDS. *sigh* the nausea is relieved by cola, carbonation, and ginger. i hate this vicious cycle. and i really hate things that can only be fixed with drugs. that drives me nuts.

Is it a possibility that you don't have enough tummy acid and it's causing the problems? I have the same problem and I'm not sure if it's too much or too little tummy acid.. not sure I care at the moment. All I know is Mylanta makes it worse. I really hope it gets better soon Kras, *hugs*

that was a concern, but i can *taste* the acid. the reflux is high enough for that.

mylanta makes me throw up, so that's not an option.

i got the camera down the throat when i was in college (9-10 years ago). it wasn't so bad. just be glad it is an upper gi, as opposed to lower... i think i would rather the tummy camera than the barium milkshake again, that thing tasted like chalk and they made me drink the whole cup... ick!

i'm just sick of invasive procedures, in the last year, i've had two major surgeries, various nerve studies, etc. i could deal with an upper GI--after all, i wouldn't remember it. i'll flat out refuse a sigmoidoscopy if they want to investigate my IBS, though. i don't care if i don't remember it, my ass is not captain nemo's playground.

so maybe i can cut a deal... i won't bitch about an endoscopy if they agree to drop all talk of figuring out my intestinal crap (pun not intended).

i can live with ibs, but heartburn is hellish.
