hey, twilight_spirit, does your dad have a food grinder? it would be a heavy metal device which attaches to the tabletop (like a vise) and has a hand crank. often used to grind meat or fruit. i left mine in VA and i don't think tom's dad actually has one.

i could also try calling tom's grandma and aunt/uncle.

Wow ... haven't seen one of those since I was a wee lad. I remember helping my grandmother grind up ham or something a long long time ago using one of those. I'm pretty certain we don't have one here, though. I'll check and make sure, and if we do I'll bring it along tomorrow.
