Oct. 12th, 2002 07:00 pmwell, boy cleaned the kitchen. i'm out of gloves (the gloves i did have mildewed when the sink decided to leak into the cupboard) and my skin's so dry that doing them more than once every other day results in severely cracked cuticles and very painful fingers. needless to say, my hands aren't pretty right now, so he did the rest of the dishes I didn't do yesterday or the day before.
we had borscht around five. that was nice. then we set to cleaning. i stripped all the beds and the futon. opened several windows and set up some fans to get some air flow going, and set to...
the floor in the bedroom is now visible. boy's closet is neatened (he did that). all the socks/undies are folded. several things from my pile are on hangers, waiting to be carried up to the loft. the bed is still piled high with my clothing (it was too hot to go upstairs this summer), waiting for hangers. we'll do that after i rest a bit.
then we'll probably briefly wet-mop the floor, dust the stereo and dressers, and make the bed. it's amazing how different it looks. i usually try to keep things from cluttering the bedroom, because i'm allergic to dust mites. maybe this will help me sleep better.
i'm very achy, so we're staying home from the dawning tonight--besides, we've been into town *EVERY SINGLE DAY* this week. i need a break, and so does the car.
MPFC is on right now. boy is on the porch eating a tangerine, but he keeps giggling at the dialogue (okay, john cleese as the grand inquisitor lip-syncing to petula clark tunes IS giggle-inducing).
the sun came out for a bit today, so i pounded a nail into one of the porch supports out back and hung up the mothballed skirt of doom. i think i'll probably bring it in soon and then put it out again tomorrow, if the weather cooperates (frankly, i'd rather we have rain, but i'm also getting VERY headachy and lung-achy from this skirt).
i think that after we handle my pile o'clothing, we'll probably start a load of wash and then just veg out for the rest of the evening. perhaps we'll watch a lexx dvd or NMBC... or the brazil commentary from the criterion edition. or maybe we'll be really silly and watch evil dead and army of darkness. ooooh yeah. :)
