At least there were sidewalks.
Jul. 30th, 2008 06:36 pmThis will mean little to folks who don't live in Charlottesville . . . but I walked a lot today.
I dropped the Ford off at Battlefield Ford for the annual inspection. They were booked up til after lunch. I had to decline the courtesy shuttle (car seat issues), so I grabbed the stroller and headed for the Rivanna Ridge shopping center on top of Pantops. Had coffee, did some grocery shopping (just stuff that will keep). Then headed downhill. And I went all the way downhill, to the River. Followed the Rivanna Trail to Riverview Park. I pushed Ronan in the swing, changed his soggy diaper, and tried to nurse him. He was too intrigued by the playground, so we hit the swings again. Eventually, Ford called. We walked back.
Ooof. Only 5.25 miles, but it seems much further. And after picking up the car, I saw a bank board that gave the temperature as 95F. No wonder I was beat!
Oh, well. Ronan enjoyed most of his ride. There were plenty of doggies on the trail and semi trucks on US 250.
