Last thing that made you laugh really hard?
My days all run together. I'm not sure. I laugh all the time. I typically laugh very hard while reading
explodingcat's livejournal entries. And I do laugh so hard no sound comes out on a regular basis, usually in response to something boy has said aloud. Right now I'm chuckling at my prune covered baby.
How much snow is to much snow?
Does not compute. No such thing! I suppose if it gets above the roof, it might be a hardship. So long as there's adequate ventilation for heating systems, I'm good!
Biggest surprise about motherhood?
I've not really had any surprises, mostly because I didn't build up too many expectations. Everything's going swimmingly. I'm pleasantly surprised at my lack of mastitis. Kinda "whoa" about the ongoing oversupply/forceful ejection. Did you know that breastmilk sprays out in multiple streams? Yeah. I wish my showerhead had that kinda pressure.
I'm definitely not surprised at the fact that my husband is laughing and cheering Ronan on right now as baked apples and prune-covered spoons go flying onto the floor (and then onto the dog who is assiduously cleaning the floor).
Last thing that made you cry really hard?
I rarely (almost never) cry really hard. I tend to just tear up. I recently did just that over one of
klwalton's posts about her son.
I love your icon ... Jericho the poodlydoodly, yes?
Yes! doodledog!

What is your most favorite recipe for something savory?
Something I make an awful lot is just a quesadilla made with cheese, thinly sliced onion, sliced kalamata olives, and corn tortillas. I use my cast iron griddle pan. It's simple, but makes me happy.
I'll have to think about this some more, though, because most of my favorite recipes use carrots and tomatoes, which are now off limits.
Compared to this time last year, how happy are you?
I'm pretty even keeled. I'm quite happy most of the time, content the rest. So long as I don't think about politics, I'm generally smiling.
Any plans on going back to being a vegetarian or have you accepted meat into your life?
I've accepted it, but am still kinda grossed out by it. I often feel like I've still lost my identity. I may return to vegetarianism someday, but not right now.
How are you doing coming up to Ronans' first birthday?
Great! I wish my house was picked up. I wish it was neat. I wish it had three more rooms and an attic/basement. Otherwise, great! (I'm not too weepy about Ronan getting older. I haven't succumbed to the WANT MORE BABIES urge.)
What is your most favorite recipe for something sweet?
Probably tapioca pudding. I don't make a lot of sweets. My most common sweet snack is just a smoothie (yogurt, protein powder, frozen mangos or blueberries).
Compared to this time last year, how tired are you?
Oh, much more tired. I slept great during pregnancy--I did, after all, sleep through a tree falling on our house a few days before Ronan was born. In fact, sleeping well was my first pregnancy symptom. After a decade of fibro-related insomnia, I suddenly started sleeping!
I sleep decently now, but Ronan gets up before I'm ready. And he does nurse off and on through the night--I sometimes sleep through that, sometimes not. And he insists on daily walks, whether I'm awake or not. So I slog through the streets most days, wearing him or pushing the stroller (harder, because I toss extra things into it).
Will you write my research paper for me, it's due tomorrow?
You know, mommy brain isn't some misogynistic joke. It's real.
