Quick Soup Recipe
Feb. 25th, 2006 02:34 amSometimes I want a quick soup. The quickest, of course, is plain ol' broth or miso.
Tonight, I wanted something with a bit of bite.
Heat some oil (safflower, sesame/chili) in a pan. Toss in some garlic. Saute briefly. Add 1.5 cups vegetable broth. Shake in some dried mushrooms and dried onions and about 3TB ready-to-use wakame. Add some pepper. Add an ounce or two of diced brown rice mochi (I used dduk or whatever the korean word is). Boil 3-5 minutes. Add a dash of tamarind sauce. Salt to taste and enjoy. A bit of ginger wouldn't hurt it. I was just lazy.
