So...

went to bed with a horrid headache (one of those that hits behind the eyes, around the jaw, and radiates around the back of the head and up from the neck and down through the lower back) last night. It was a combination of noise, smoke, sinus, and jaw pain. It was bad. I think boy reiki'd me as I fell asleep, but I really don't remember.

I woke up from a super vivid and quite odd dream, then lazed in bed for half an hour to try to fall back into it. I liked it. It was quite odd and mixed up everything from steampunk to quantum physics. It was as though I'd fallen into a world created by China MiƩville and Robert Anton Wilson. I was trying to convince myself that I was insane in the dream, because the implications of the dimensional jumps and shifts should have had horrific consequences. But I was happy and the thoroughly modern (yet old-fashioned) Edwardian dandy of this little Norwegian on-water shantyboat-town was quite attractive.

As my body began it's daily waking up routine, I quickly discovered a horrible nausea. My headache was still with me and getting worse. Eventually, I realized I needed my meds, liquid, and small doses of caffeine. I think that my sinuses are mad, plus I appear to be moderately caffeine-dependent, and I think I was dehydrated. I've had a few cups of green tea and am finishing one right now--I have a glass of iced ginger peach tea to drink as well.

I'm feeling a bit better. I probably need food, but I don't feel that well yet. I do feel like going on a gentle hike, so perhaps we'll do that today. I'm wearing my new NB country walkers. I got them on sale at the NB store. I later discovered them even cheaper online, but I'm not complaining--the pedorthist fit me and he was able to help me find a shoe that doesn't hit my ankle trigger points *and* which handles my orthoses. I need higher-cut athletic. The low ones HURT, but many shoe fitters insist that with my TrPs, the lower ones are what I need. Plus, he didn't bat an eye when he asked what size usually buy and I picked up my Stonefly mary janes and looked to see, "38". That's me--only expensive shoes anymore. So, italian leather mary janes by Stone-fly, and higher-cut country walkers from NB. I hope these NB shoes fit better than my previous NB shoes. They're not the color I like, being taupish-mauveish-brown/tan, but I decided that, for once, comfort and exercise come before vanity. *sigh*

When trying the shoes on, I asked the pedortho if I could jump in them. I made him promise not to tell my doctor. ;) My podiatrist told me no jumping down from rocks, etc, because I already have stress fractures (sesamoid bones--tiny, nothing can be done) and horrific foot architecture. I figure if I have a structural collapse, I'll just have to get robot to carry me around.
