shoes

yet another appointment with my podiatrist where i don't have new shoes. i suppose i could go looking before my appt.

see... i don't think there's any point in buying new shoes if they're UGLY. i won't wear them. i'm vain. i really won't pay 100 bucks for a pair of new balance sneakers that (a) aren't suitable for mountain trails; (b) are ugly; (c) don't match my wardrobe.

i don't want brown shoes. i don't want white shoes or orange and purple shoes or shoes that look like old fashioned nurse shoes, only black.

i think i should hit (a) ragged mountain running to look for trail boots and (b) Richey, to see if they have anything I can bear. I hate spending this much money on shoes, but walking is something I sort of need to do.

dammit... i read that the more sensible fluevogs (like baobh's lucky angel boots) can accomodate orthoses and are quite comfortable. i wish i lived near a store which sold them.

i'd jus like some black boots--they can even be walking boots. but i don't want them to be puffy. i don't want them to have weirdly colored soles. i don't want them to have red trim. i don't want to dress like a lumberjack, dammit.
