I'm listening to the Core on WNRN.
You should listen... and pledge money if you like what you hear!

Sanja is playing Kompressor - "the girl from ipanema" for me... oh, it's over.
rootofnewt: (car)
i should be in bed.

ah, well.

went to the station with [livejournal.com profile] xiane tonight. chatted with her and [livejournal.com profile] audiorapture during Sanja's show. i attempted to answer phones, but *really* hate trying to make sales and such... i do far better at behind the scenes paperwork, filing, bagging, etc. i had a slurpee, though, so all was good.

anyhow... it was nicely brisk tonight. earlier, I picked up Chris from work and took her to the mall, where we wandered and shopped. i didn't pick up anything except Death's Head tissues. chris got a few things, but she managed to get some very long stripey socks i was coveting. perhaps next payperiod i can snag some. we hit the DT Mall for pizza and chitchat. it was lovely.

i need to get new sneakers this week. *sigh* why do shoes have to be so expensive? at least fall colors are in. if i see some decent walking boots, i'll go for those, instead.

when i came home from shopping, boy had *cleaned* the living room carpet. YAY! he brushed it, vaccuumed it and now it's all nice and clean. it looks so nice. i'm so happy he did this. i didn't even ask!! he just knew it needed to be done.

tomorrow, i hope is still movie matinee day. [livejournal.com profile] solieri, [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth--still on for that? i want to see either Underworld or Once Upon A Time In Mexico.
rootofnewt: (winken)
i giggled, laughed, and cringed my way through Once Upon A Time In Mexico...

the bad thing about going to movies alone is that i don't have a shoulder to bury my face in and nobody to look down at me and laugh when i slide down and fall out of my seat.

despite my solitude, i liked the film. i really like Rodriguez' sense of humor and his whole damn style.

[livejournal.com profile] wdalphin, shut up about spy kids 3 already, eh? ;)
the kitchen floor is scrubbed clean.

i had the urge to do it... it needed it... i'd been planning it for a week or so.

but i didn't realize how much of a workout it would be again... but it's done. it's no longer as gray as it was... any dusty gooey bits have been cleaned up. it's nice.

[livejournal.com profile] computerchix--i'm just cleaning, i'm not actually putting anything away. ;) don't worry, i'm not going to *too* much effort, but i wouldn't be a midwesterner if i didn't *clean* before guests arrive.

grabbed [livejournal.com profile] solieri and dragged him with us to the Scottsville Farmer's market. very low turnout there, but we scored some green tomatoes (already fried and eaten), green peppers, arugula-garlic goat cheese, and strawberry sorbet (eaten before we got 10 miles). we stopped in Esmont for boy to get fried chicken, then went home the long way in an attempt to *not* get the guys motion sick...

anyhow, it was fun. i like spending time with patrick. he's a sweetie. i hope his new job turns out well.

boy has ben watching Most Extreme Elimination Challenge for the last two hours, off and on. he took a break to sweep the kitchen, move everything out, take out the trash, and kill mildew. he's a sweetie. still, though, he likes this show... of course he likes this show. it's asinine.
Hokkaido rocked with mag 8 earthquake... which was followed by a 7 magnitude...

so far, no deaths reported. i hope that stands.
sometimes, i want to pop off my head, pull out my neck bones, shuffle them a bit, wash out my neck, the pack everything back together.

maybe *that* would ease some of the tension.
