today, i hit the Giant on Pantops, in search of KfP chocolate chips. No luck, but I got lots of discounted Manischewitz caramel cashew clusters. woohoo! I also picked up some canned goods, as my supply of soggy spinach and pineapple tidbits was running dangerously low. I then tried Food Lion, no luck. I checked out some sale makeup at Eckerd, but Eckherd doesn't provide ingredient lists, so I came away lipstick-less. I stopped in at the ABC to see if they carry or import lovage cordial, but forgot to mention a brand name (Phillips of Bristol).
Went home to pick up boy and he drove the rest of the evening, which is good as my feet were (and continue to) kill me. ouch.
We stopped at taco bell for sustenance, then headed to Lowe's, which was cold and rain-soaked (it was still raining), so we left Lowe's and went to Jo-ann's. I found eyelet cotton 50% off, so I picked up some white (scallop edge) and black. I went back to the pattern section because my brain wasn't working and I wanted to estimate how much yardage I'd need for a simple four-gore skirt. Then I realized that the Simplicity patterns were all 1.99... So I picked up several. I got my fabric cut and looked for black eyelet lace. Nada. I looked for 100% cotton eyelet lace trim. Nada. I threw my hands up in the air and paid for the purchases and left. (I also grabbed some latex-free elastic to tide me over until my huge order arrives next week.)
Boy and I walked to TJMaxx, where we found a pair of nice *black* jeans on clearance. He now has Polo by Ralph Lauren jeans, so I'll be laughing at his designer jeans for awhile. Of course, they'll fit me, too. We walked to Rugged Wearhouse. He found a snazzy shirt and decided to get it. He buys new clothes so rarely, this is really astonishing. ;)
We hit the mall, but the Disney store had no Stitch suction-cup dolls and the beanies weren't the kind I wanted. (Yes, Andi, I saw the stitch doll you posted and I MUST HAVE IT.) We also tried to pay off the Sears card, but they only take cash or check, not bank cards (because the computer interprets the bank card as a Visa). We'll take the checkbook in tomorrow.
Hit Whole Foods, got groceries. Stopped at the Route 29 Giant in search of choccy chips. None, still. *sigh* I'm just gonna have to go to the Katz Meat-n-Eat in Rockville early next week and see if they still have Passover chocolate in stock. I have to take the Mac up for repair, anyhow. MUST HAVE CHOCOLATE.
My feet are very, very sore. I wanted to go see a midnight-thirty showing of Harry Potter at the Jefferson, but I don't even want to walk from the parking lot to the theater. It's just too far. I did too much walking today, anyhow. Must investigate hoverboard option.
