mactavish...

on a creepier note, the drink dosing in DC is seriously creepiy. i'm glad the promoters are trying to spread the word in
alchemy_dc and
shadowscene so that folks will be more cautious, but DAMN... that's scary.
i really need to shower and sleep... but i'm kinda jittery... probably need to let the caffeine work itself off.

Jan. 26th, 2003 08:36 amWell, chickdees are titmice... but I was still surprised to see the wee chickadee stealing catfood this morning. The jays have been ransacking the dish, too.
I put more millet sprays out for the juncos. They'll eat nyjer seed, too, but they seem to enjoy dragging the sprays around and wrestling each other. So I keep them fat and round and busy.
and no, i'm not asleep. i stayed up to finish Blackwood Farm and decided that I may as well use today to drop-kick my sleep schedule back to something diurnal-ish. I'll stay up today... watch tv tonight, and fall asleep around 10-11, I hope. Sadly, that means I won't hear
xiane's show, though I might have it on softly. Maybe I'll tape it.
sooooo.... today will be one long stretch of trying to keep myself awake. i was tired six hours ago... we'll see how it goes. maybe i'll do some baking.

Jan. 26th, 2003 08:45 ami have a pair of red-breasted nuthatches battering away at the suet feeder.
this is one benefit of being awake during the day--seeing all the activity as the birds start feeding. i dug out another long phone cord and i'm sitting on the guest bed in boy's office.
the pine siskin has arrived. the goldfinches seem to leave her alone, whereas they fight each other. as if there isn't enough thistleseed to found a nation of spiny terror.
i wonder how many folks will remove me from their friends lists or filter me out by the end of the day? ;) they best hope i find another book to read soon...

Jan. 26th, 2003 06:19 pmI know, it's hard to believe, but we do keep the Super Bowl on... I don't watch it. I sit beside boy and websurf. Or I cook carrot cake.
He calls me in for the commercials.
I know that Canada is in North America, but there's something wrong with Celine Dion singing God Bless America. Well, there's something wrong with Celine Dion being allowed to sing at all, but that's another issue.
I despise football, but I love silly commercials.

Jan. 26th, 2003 11:32 pmThis cover of "Midlife Crisis" is cool.
xiane, who is it? And have you ever heard boy sing the jazz-swing version of it? He's more well-known for the loungey version of "Surprise, You're Dead!" but any of Patton's songs become pure silliness in boy's voice.
