you could guess that i just made this lovely chocolate hazelnut milkshake out of nutella, ice cream, and milk.

you'd be wrong.

g
do you dream?
do you remember your dreams?
do you dream in color?
do you have a sense of taste in your dreams?
while dreaming, are you cognizant of the fact that you are merely dreaming? if so, do you take advantage of this?
me: "i'm going to bite you"
boy: "YIP!"
me: are you warning me that i'm going to bite you?
boy: uh....
me: or are you warning all the OTHER prairie dogs?"
boy: yeah, that's it.
me: maybe we should get fur outfits so we can be furverts.
boy: what would we be?
me: PRAIRIE dogs, silly.
boy: oh, i wanted to be an ant. a furry ant.
me: o_O
boy: ants don't have fur, do they?
me: no, but i think some have little short stalk-like hairs.
boy: ants don't have fur because they shave.

then my head exploded.

again.

c
boy needs to exercise more. he wants to do it with me.

well, since bearing weight on my feet kills me still (haven't managed to budget orthotics yet) and just *walking* is painful, i told hiim i can only swim with him, nothing else. swimming is also the least painful/stressful form of exercise i can do and it won't leave me curled up in bed for several days afterward.

well, gyms with pools aren't that common around here. and the ones that do have pools are expensive as hell.

the local YMCA doesn't have a facility of its own and offers no joint adult swimming programs with local school pools.

there is a Y in farmville (40 miles away) with a joint swim program. there's also a Y in waynesboro (35 miles again) with a pool. 40 miles takes too damn long in this area (45-60 minute drive one-way). *sigh*

bah. i miss having a local Y with affordable rates. if new castle, indiana, could do it, why can't charlottesville?
happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] darkest_eve.

i hope you have fun today, sweetie. listen to some yummy music, put on some fun clothes, and go dance your heart out, okay?

we went for a long country drive today.

we hit a few rainy patches and saw lots of lightning. the mountains were gorgeous up close, all bright green foliage with grey-black sky.

just north of amherst, we encountered some really violent storming. i was keeping an eye to the west/southwest for funnels. we outran the storm (driving north), but it caught up to us as we drove east on route 6, slamming hard when we pulled into the driveway.

just as we were taking off our shoes, the power went off. all the appliances are electric. it was 7pm and we were HUNGRY.

so we decided to go out. boy found jeans and a nick cave tshirt, i found a 1950s underskirt, fishnet dress, and corset. la la la. did my makeup in the dark in the car, typical goth night out. ;)

we had sushi at tokyo rose, chatted with [livejournal.com profile] xiane and some other folks. instead of staying for the dawning, boy wanted to go home. we aren't seeing the band tonight, but it was nice to just be *out* for awhile. it's also good that we came home, as we have no shower and i can't be around smoky club air without showering before bed. doing such a stupid thing ensures that i will NOT be happy to be alive in the morning.

we stopped at food lion for batteries (for the radio), then came all the way home. power is still out. the trees have been cleared from the road, though, which is good, as enough damage had been inflicted earlier when boy+trees = ruined radio antenna (non-functional stereo for the moment, unless we want to bust the antenna motor, too).

lots of candlelight right now. i'm still hungry, but i have chips and dip. earlier, we had salad while we played guillotine.

i bought athletic shoes today, too. i was in dire need of exercise shoes and the new balance outlet had a sale. nice black and silver aerobic type shoes (i prefer cross-trainers or running shoes, but these will be fine).

so it goes.
