I'm well aware of the trade-off I make with my mind and body when *I* want to do something. I do it and I suffer the consequences. Usually those happen to be pain, fatigue (exhaustion, really), and brain fog. And I'm just sitting here this afternoon saying, "but it was worth it." And it was. I spent last night with friends. I spent most of it with M and R (my ex). After dinner, we had a slumber party. Very few pillow fights, usually consising of M (hello!) or I bonking each other on the head once in the middle of conversation. R's date/friend J joined us for supper. She's a sweetie, too. Supper (sushi, all veg for me) was nice, even though I discovered via hives that I was consuming soy (damn pickled daikon). I knew better, I just forgot that the brown pickled radish contained soy sauce. I think R was relieved that she didn't have to call boyand say "ummm, I killed your wife." Anyhow, the evening was fun. I needed some girl time. I often forget how important it is. And it was so good to spend time with M for once. She and I are learning how to behave in public. We live so close, yet so damned far (yes, DC is one of *those* cities). So now I'm home with boy. We had a quick dinner on the new carpet in the kitchen (yes, they scraped up the moldy carpet, flooring, and then scraped the concrete pad yesterday). I called maintenance to fix ANOTHER leak and I can hear him in the kitchen at the moment. Soon I'll go shower. I've been too tired to stand up for that long. And too achy. I think the hot water will do me good, though. We have a party to attend tonight. I'm crashing there and babysitting in the morning. Boy will probably get a ride home. I think I'll be very sedate tonight. And I might even crash before the four-year old does. I'm pretty sure I'll be fairly upset about my body's trade-off by Monday. ;)
