it's not late, but i'm all tired and stuff. normally i can stay away for 12-14 hours... well, i guess i *am* getting close to 14. anyhow, the combination melantonin and nick cave are lulling me to sleep.

i wish the apartment management would finish the job. they still have work to do (carpets, another wall, flooring). i just want to be able to live in here again! since they have two days, i'm going to try to leave on both wednesday and thursday. not sure where i'll go, but the museums downtown are always options.

bleagh. i haven't felt much like museums. i think i'll try to find unemployed/telecommuting friends to harass.

i'm good at that.

On Saturday, I went to a party at my friend K's place. When he picked my hubby and me up at the metro, he had another friend, E, with him. I asked K whether E would know a third friend, A.

K and my husband attended high school together. K and E met at college. A was one of my closest friends when I was a junior in high school. She ended up going to the same college as K and E. The first time I met K, I jokingly asked whether he knew A. He did. So I figured it was reasonable to ask E the same question--women weren't exactly plentiful on their uni campus. ;)

It turns out E not only knows A, he sometimes sees her at parties! So I gave him hubby's business card, which two non-local ISP email addies (boy's and mine) on the back.

A and I fell out of touch while we were in college. We both had reasons for falling out of touch with treasured friends. Now I'm slowly regaining those connections, but I wasn't sure whether she'd be up for chatting with me these days.

A emailed me today.

WOOOOOOO!

I'm so happy. :)

I think something must be in the air or water these days.
