BTW, do you know where Fork Union is? If so, how would you describe it?

I was born in Charlottesville, and lived in Fork Union 'til I was three, but only have a very few memories of specific buildings (wanting to ring the bell for church, and trying to steal cookies at coffee hour, and one or two visuals of my house).

Anyway, just curious...

it's at the southern and western side of the intersection of US 15 and VA 6. it's an interesting town, one of the few marked on the map between scottsville and richmond which has more than a few rotting buildings.

fork union actually *isn't* rotting. it actually seems to have a little commerce and some really interesting architecture. i've been thinking of driving over on a dull day just to wander around and see if there's anything else to it. there are several historical markers, only a few of which i've managed to read.

So now I'm poking around online... Weird. I actually found the listing for the church:

Grace Episcopal Church
State Route 657, Bremo Bluff, VA 23022

Apparently the church itself is actually in Bremo Bluff. Unfortunately, they're not online. Ah well. It'd be neat to see photos of the place.

Oh, clarification. Dad's an Episcopal priest. Hence the "locating previous churches" aspect of this.

if i had a digital camera, i'd zoom on over and snap some pics for you. i don't and i *just* developed a roll of film. it'll take me ages to get through the new one.

No problem! I'm now on a big "research the religious sites of Sarah's childhood" kick as a result of this conversation. Weird.
